What causes a jaw crusher to suddenly shut down
Causes:
1. Blockage at the discharge opening, causing material buildup in the crushing chamber;
2. Excessively loose V-belt driving the sprocket, resulting in belt slippage;
3. Loosening of the eccentric shaft locking bushing, causing zero clearance in the bearing housings on both sides of the frame, which locks the eccentric shaft and prevents rotation;
4. Insufficient voltage at the worksite, causing the main unit to lack crushing power when encountering oversized material;
5. Bearing damage.
Troubleshooting Methods:
1. Clear the discharge port obstruction to ensure smooth material flow;
2. Tighten or replace the V-belt;
3. Reinstall or replace the locking bushing;
4. Adjust the worksite voltage to meet the main unit's operational requirements;
5. Replace the bearings.
