Reasons for and Solutions to Material Not Feeding Through a Vibrating Screen

Vibrating screens are commonly used screening equipment in mining production, characterised by their compact size, light weight, high efficiency, and multiple layers. During production, it is often observed that vibrating screens fail to feed or discharge material, significantly impacting production efficiency.

Causes of material not feeding or moving in a vibrating screen:

1. The screen box of the vibrating screen must be installed horizontally on the same horizontal plane. If the horizontal balance of the screen box is not achieved, it will cause the screen surface to shift to some extent, preventing the material from flowing in a straight line;

2. When the support springs of the screen box have excessive stiffness, they may subject the material to excessive vibrational forces, causing intense vibration. If the support springs are damaged, it may also result in uneven force distribution on the material, leading to abnormal flow;

3. After prolonged use, the screen mesh of the vibrating screen may become damaged, preventing the material from flowing normally on the screen surface;

4. When the feed rate of the vibrating screen is uneven, the material cannot be subjected to uniform vibrational forces, which also leads to abnormal material flow on the screen surface of the linear vibrating screen.

Solutions for poor screening quality and material not discharging from the vibrating screen:

1. Adjust the horizontal level of the linear vibrating screen to ensure the screen box is level;

2. Select support springs with adequate flexibility for the linear vibrating screen to prevent damage caused by excessive rigidity. Adjust the support springs and replace damaged spring structures and broken screens;

3. Ensure material is fed uniformly and continuously; overfeeding or underfeeding can cause imbalance in the screen box load.
