Dust Control Measures for Vertical Impact Crushers
1. Crushers and their auxiliary equipment, such as hoppers and conveyors, can all generate dust. Inhaling dust is harmful to the health of crusher operators. Generally speaking, excessive dust content in the air can lead to silicosis, with the severity of the risk depending on the dust concentration, the duration of work in a dusty environment, and the type of material being crushed. It is strongly recommended that all personnel working in dusty environments wear dust-proof equipment, such as dust masks, to prevent dust inhalation.
2. Operators must be responsible for determining the necessity of using dust-proof equipment, its suitability, and issuing warnings about the hazards of dust. They must ensure that all personnel entering the work area wear dust-proof equipment and comply with hazard warnings.
3. By improving the crushing process, the amount of dust generated by the crusher can be reduced, such as by installing a dust collection system or adding water spraying devices on the conveyor belts at the feed and/or discharge openings. The amount of dust generated by the crusher can also be reduced by increasing the material volume in the feed hopper (reducing air intake).
