The selection and configuration of equipment for a stone crushing production line, along with process design, significantly impact both the yield rate and quality of finished aggregates. Therefore, multiple factors must be considered when selecting equipment for a stone crushing production line to choose crushers that suit specific production requirements. So, for diabase—a relatively hard material—what type of crusher equipment is best suited to crush it into various sizes of aggregate?

First, consider the type and hardness of the source material: limestone, granite, river pebbles, basalt, or basalt? Also, the rock's Mohs hardness (rocks with a Mohs hardness of 7 or above are considered very hard), and whether the rock is soft and brittle or hard and brittle. Soft and brittle materials are best crushed using jaw crushers, impact crushers, hammer crushers, or box crushers (heavy hammer crushers). Hard and brittle materials require cone crushers and shaping crushers.

Second, consider the crusher's performance (crushing ratio) and suitability. Jaw crushers offer a high crushing ratio through compression crushing, producing output with a high proportion of needle and flake particles, making them suitable for primary crushing. Cone crushers, impact crushers, hammer crushers, and impact crushers produce well-shaped particles, making them suitable for secondary and tertiary crushing. Impact crushers and hammer crushers are suitable for crushing materials of medium hardness or below, while cone crushers and shaping crushers are suitable for materials of medium hardness or above.

Next, consider production capacity, which requires good compatibility between equipment. Final output depends on all equipment in the production line. For example, if 500 t/h output is required, it's not enough for the sand maker alone to reach 500 t/h. The processing capacity of preceding equipment like jaw crushers, cone crushers, and belt conveyors must also match. Otherwise, the final output will inevitably fall short.

Lastly, consider any special quality standards for the crushed stone. If high requirements exist for particle shape, shaping is necessary, and a shaping crusher should be configured. A complete crushed stone production line primarily includes equipment such as vibrating feeders, jaw crushers, cone crushers, impact crushers, vibrating screens, belt conveyors, dust removal equipment, and centralized electrical control systems. Additional equipment like shaping crushers may be added based on processing needs. With a hardness exceeding 6.5 on the Mohs scale, diabase can be processed using cone crushers operating on the laminar crushing principle. Depending on finished product specifications, sand makers may also be integrated.

As diabase is a relatively hard material, the following crushing equipment is recommended to minimize wear:

For primary crushing, a jaw crusher is advised. This primary crushing equipment handles materials up to 320 MPa hardness. Constructed from special materials with high wear resistance, it features a deep V-shaped crushing chamber for large feed capacity and effective prevention of material splashing.

For secondary crushing, a multi-cylinder hydraulic cone crusher is recommended. This cone crusher excels at processing high-hardness materials using a layer compression crushing mechanism, minimizing equipment wear. Its unique oil-lubrication system design extends service life. Wear-free seals enhance dust containment reliability, fundamentally eliminating common issues like oil-water mixing in cone crushers.

For fine crushing and sand making, the vertical impact crusher (sand making and shaping machine) is recommended. This sand maker processes high-hardness materials. The PLS sand maker, a new-generation sand production equipment, employs both “stone-on-stone” and “stone-on-iron” principles to achieve sand making and shaping effects. Its particle gradation, finished particle shape, fineness modulus, and particle size distribution all meet construction sand standards.
