Jaw crushers are commonly used crushing equipment in the mining and aggregate industry, widely applied in sectors such as mining and smelting, building materials, highways, railways, water conservancy, and chemical engineering. Due to their simple structure, robustness, reliable operation, ease of maintenance, and relatively low production costs, they remain the primary choice for the initial crushing stage of various ores and rocks with compressive strengths ranging from 147 to 245 MPa, handling coarse, medium, and fine ore particles as well as bulk materials.

Purchasing a jaw crusher should be based on specific operational requirements. Selecting appropriate product parameters and models ensures both effective task completion and efficient cost control, thereby increasing profitability.

So, when acquiring equipment, what key parameters should be prioritized besides choosing the right jaw crusher manufacturer?

1. Maximum Feed Size

Common jaw crusher feed sizes on the market typically range from 125 to 1200 mm.

Maximum feed size represents the longest distance between two points on the material being processed—essentially, the largest rock size it can handle! When other variables like price, capacity, and output size are fixed, larger is better! However, in practice, selecting a size that matches your specific needs is more reasonable. Buying a machine with excessively large feed capacity will cost you more, but overlooking parameters and choosing too small a size may result in substandard output material quality or even machine damage!

2. Feed Opening Size

Common jaw crusher discharge sizes typically range from 150×250 to 2000×1500 mm.

Feed opening size should be determined to prevent discharge port blockages, which reduce crusher capacity and increase power consumption. Feed size directly impacts crusher efficiency under fixed conditions!

3. Discharge Opening Adjustment Range

The discharge opening adjustment range for jaw crushers is typically between 10mm and 300mm.

Similar to feed opening size, adjustments must prevent discharge opening blockages. All jaw crushers feature discharge opening adjustment mechanisms. The adjustment range directly impacts the fineness of the discharge material! Select equipment based on your actual requirements during procurement!

Additionally, after prolonged use, the jaw plates will wear down, causing the discharge opening to enlarge and the output particle size to increase. Therefore, periodic adjustments are necessary to ensure the output meets production process requirements.

4. Processing Capacity

In industrial contexts, processing capacity typically denotes the weight of raw materials processed per unit time. For jaw crushers, this translates to tons of material processed per hour. For example, a 50(t/h) jaw crusher theoretically processes 50 tons of limestone per hour.

Processing capacity is the primary indicator of a machine's operational efficiency and warrants close attention during procurement. If a production plan calls for processing 100 tons of limestone daily over an 8-hour shift, a 20 t/h capacity would suffice. Inadequate capacity fails to meet targets, while excessive capacity constitutes a financial waste.

5. Motor Power

This is self-explanatory—it's all about power consumption! Opting for a lower-power model is always the right choice when it can still meet production demands. However, when other variables are constant, higher output capacity generally requires a more powerful motor.

6. Dimensions

This typically refers to the equipment's physical size. When workspace is fixed, the machine's dimensions become a critical consideration. For instance, if your production line layout only allocates 10 square meters for the crusher, an oversized unit simply won't fit!

If these parameters align appropriately, the equipment should effectively meet practical production demands.
