Troubleshooting Methods for Abnormal Noises and Moving Jaw Fractures in Jaw Crushers
Fault 1: Vibration or Impact Sounds During Operation of Moving and Fixed Jaw Plates
Cause: Loose or missing fastening bolts on jaw plates; undersized discharge opening causing bottom plates to collide.
Solution: Tighten or replace missing bolts; adjust discharge opening to ensure proper clearance between jaw plates.
Fault 2: Breakage of the movable jaw.
Causes: Severe casting defects such as dense porosity; use of substandard elbow plates or elbow plate pads, preventing self-breaking protection during high-impact crushing; Displacement of the moving jaw within the frame, causing one end to strike the frame side guard plate; failure to replace the tie rod spring promptly after tension loss; discharge opening smaller than specified limits; incorrect feed positioning (skewed toward one end) or excessively steep hopper angle, causing material to strike the moving jaw head directly.
Remedial Measures: Replace the moving jaw, simultaneously installing genuine elbow plates and pads manufactured by the original equipment manufacturer (OEM). Correctly assemble the eccentric shaft, bearings, locking bushings, and moving jaw. Replace damaged components and the tie rod spring. Adjust the discharge opening according to specifications.
