Today, using jaw crushers as an example, we'll discuss dust suppression measures.

1. Use water spraying to reduce dust. Install water spray systems at the three primary dust-generating areas: the feed inlet, discharge outlet, and crushing chamber. Each location should have two spray nozzles. At the feed inlet, both nozzles should point toward the inlet. At the discharge outlet, the two nozzles should be positioned at an angle to each other, creating a crisscross spray pattern for optimal coverage. In the crushing chamber, the nozzles should be mounted behind the moving jaw at an angle to the horizontal plane.

2. Dust extraction. Install one vacuum cleaner each at the discharge outlet and the maintenance access point behind the moving jaw in the crushing chamber to control dust dispersion through suction. Position the discharge outlet vacuum hood approximately 1000mm from the outlet, with its surface perpendicular to the dust flow direction.

3. Regularly clean the pre-screening vibrating screen. Before entering the jaw crusher, materials undergo pre-screening on a vibrating screen to remove small particles and dust. Frequent cleaning prevents clogging and maintains screening efficiency, avoiding dust generation from large amounts of dusty material entering the crushing system.

4. Select appropriate tooth plates. Choose plates with relatively high tooth count and smaller tooth profiles to enhance crushing efficiency and reduce dust generation. Replace worn tooth plates promptly. Dull plates increase contact area with ore, forming larger compacted cores that consume excessive crushing power while generating significant dust.

5. Optimize downstream conveying speed of crushed products. Adjusting the downstream conveying speed not only enables the crusher to operate at peak efficiency but also effectively controls dust levels.

6. Implement material humidification. To maintain a stable dust control environment and better manage overall dust concentration, humidify raw ore before feeding into the crusher during actual production. This significantly reduces dust generation during crushing.
