What is recycled aggregate? It refers to sand and gravel aggregates produced through the processing of waste materials such as old concrete blocks, brick debris, and cement blocks, making them reusable. These waste materials are primarily generated during the construction, renovation, expansion, or demolition of buildings. As urbanization continues to accelerate, the volume of such waste is growing rapidly. So, how should the production process for recycled aggregate be designed? And what are the equipment prices?

Recycled Aggregate Production Process and Equipment

Currently, there are many types of recycled aggregate processing equipment on the market, categorized into mobile, stationary, and mobile-plus-stationary solutions. The most commonly used equipment includes jaw crushers, impact crushers, and mobile crushers. The recycled aggregate production process primarily consists of five stages: raw material pre-screening, crushing, magnetic separation, separation, screening, and finished product storage and transportation. The specific process is as follows.

Pre-sorting: Manual pre-screening and sorting of waste concrete, bricks, and cement blocks are required to remove contaminants such as wood and rebar, thereby preventing equipment malfunctions.

Crushing: Since construction waste is a medium-hard material with no stickiness and no strict requirements for moisture content, jaw crushers and impact crushers are typically used to process large chunks of waste material into various sizes of gravel, sand, and other aggregates.

Magnetic Separation: Magnetic separation equipment is used to remove scrap metal from the finished product. If it is confirmed that the material contains no metal, this step can be omitted.

Separation: Materials such as fabric, plastic, and wood chips cannot be removed via magnetic separation; therefore, sorting equipment is required to separate these lightweight materials for alternative uses.

Screening: The remaining finished product is transported by a conveyor to a vibrating screen for sorting. The number of screen layers and mesh size can be customized based on the required particle size of the finished product.

Fixed-Type Recycled Aggregate Production Process:

Equipment Configuration: Vibrating feeder + jaw crusher + impact crusher + vibrating screen + conveyor; (Generally, the manager will configure a suitable production line based on your specific circumstances)

This process requires collecting materials from demolition sites and transporting them to a processing facility for treatment. Construction involves driving ground piles. It is suitable for sites with stable ground conditions, large-scale operations, and a relatively fixed supply of raw materials. It ensures high output and has lower initial investment costs. The jaw crusher features optimized motion parameters, a deep crushing chamber with no dead zones, and a higher crushing ratio. The impact crusher achieves “more crushing, less grinding,” resulting in uniform final product particle size and reduced over-grinding.

Mobile Recycled Aggregate Production Process Flow:

Equipment Configuration: 2 mobile crushers

This process shortens preparation time and avoids the lengthy construction cycles associated with site selection, planning, environmental compliance, and land acquisition procedures. Mobile stations have a small footprint, can be put into production quickly, and incur low transportation costs. They eliminate the need for foundation work, disassembly, and reinstallation, as they are self-propelled and can be operated via remote control or manually. With a high degree of automation and user-friendly operation, the equipment can be replaced or upgraded later to meet varying production demands.

How much does recycled aggregate production equipment cost?

Prices for recycled aggregate production equipment vary slightly. Jaw crushers and impact crushers are somewhat lower in price, while mobile units are slightly higher. However, they are relatively cost-effective because a single unit can replace an entire production line. Additionally, prices may fluctuate slightly depending on factors such as equipment output, model, and manufacturer selection, so the final cost will depend on your specific choices.
