A sand making machine (typically referring to a vertical shaft impact sand making machine/VSI sand making machine) is a core piece of equipment specifically designed for producing high-quality artificial sand (mechanically made sand).

The following are the operating procedures for sand making machines (using a vertical shaft impact crusher as an example):

1. Before starting the machine, check that the vortex chamber inspection door is securely closed to prevent sand and gravel from being ejected through the door, which could pose a safety hazard.

2. Check the rotation direction of the impeller. When viewed from the feed opening, the impeller should rotate counterclockwise. If not, adjust the motor wiring.

3. The startup sequence for the sand-making machine and conveying equipment is: discharge → sand-making machine → feeding.

4. The sand-making machine must be started under no-load conditions. Feeding may only begin after normal operation is established. The shutdown sequence is the reverse of the startup sequence.

5. Feed material particles must strictly comply with specified requirements. Materials larger than the specified size are prohibited from entering the sand-making machine, as this may cause impeller imbalance, excessive impeller wear, or even blockage of the impeller channel and central feed pipe, preventing the sand-making machine from operating normally. If oversized feed material is detected, it must be promptly removed.

6. When the discharge equipment stops, feeding must be immediately halted; otherwise, the impeller may be jammed, leading to motor burnout.

7. Feeding should be uniform and continuous.

8. During operation, the sand-making machine should not exhibit severe vibration or abnormal noise. If such issues occur, the machine should be stopped for inspection.

9. Machine lubrication: Use the specified automotive-grade lubricating grease, with an addition volume of 1/2 to 2/3 of the bearing cavity. Add an appropriate amount of lubricating grease to the sand-making machine after each shift of operation.
