How to correctly select a crusher for different types of ore
When selecting a crusher, in addition to considering the characteristics of the material to be crushed, the discharge requirements are also a key factor to consider. Therefore, it is essential to understand the material characteristics and performance of different types of crushers.
Common types of crushers:
1. Jaw crusher: Primarily used for coarse crushing and high-capacity applications, it is suitable for a wide range of materials and produces larger discharge sizes compared to other types of crushers.
2. Cone crusher: Primarily used for secondary crushing (medium to fine crushing), suitable for materials of medium hardness or higher, commonly used for producing 12 and 13 specification aggregates.
3. Impact crusher: Similar to the cone crusher, it is also used for medium to fine crushing, but the impact crusher is more suitable for softer stone materials.
4. Sand-making machine: Ideal equipment for manufactured sand.
Material properties:
1. Materials with high moisture content, due to the presence of a screen plate, are discharged through the screen plate holes. From the perspective of mineral moisture content, minerals with excessively high moisture should not be processed using a hammer crusher. For example, clay mixtures; hammer crushers are suitable for crushing various hard materials with weak abrasion resistance. The compressive strength of the material should not exceed 100 MPa, and the moisture content should be less than 15%. Materials such as coal, salt, chalk, gypsum, bricks, and limestone are all suitable for hammer crushers.
2. High-hardness materials are crushed using impact energy. This type of crusher is suitable for crushing brittle and high-hardness mineral raw materials. Grinding crushers should not be used, as they may produce too much fine grinding in the final product.
3. For low-hardness, brittle materials such as shale, rock salt, gypsum, ordinary mudstone, crushed sandstone, cemented conglomerate, and crushed shale, there is no need to use a jaw crusher. Instead, select a hammer crusher, roller crusher, impact crusher, or composite crusher. For high-hardness minerals with high Mohs hardness, fine texture, and toughness, such as quartzite, basalt, granitic rock, quartz porphyry, sandstone, limestone, iron ore, quartz veins, gravel, magnesite, marble, dolomite, pyrite ore, siliceous shale, and shale-derived sandstone, it is necessary to select crushing equipment with strong crushing capacity. For example, jaw crushers and cone crushers. We are a mining machinery company integrating R&D, production, sales, and service.
