With so many types of crushers available, how do you choose the right one for your needs? Here is a brief introduction to the eight most commonly used crushers:

1. Jaw Crusher

The preferred equipment for primary crushing, it features a high crushing ratio, uniform product particle size, simple structure, reliable operation, easy maintenance, and economical operational costs. The crusher typically processes larger pieces of material, with a coarse product particle size, usually greater than 8 millimetres. The product particle size can be fine, reaching 0.074 millimetres, or even finer.

2. Impact Crusher

Commonly known as a sand-making machine, it utilises the ‘stone-on-stone’ crushing principle and technology, suitable for medium and fine crushing of various minerals and rocks of different hardness, such as iron ore, non-ferrous metal ores, silicon carbide, bauxite, quartz sand, brown corundum, perlite, basalt, and other high-hardness materials. It is a core piece of equipment in the construction, mining, and metallurgy industries, as well as in the fields of highways, railways, bridges, hydropower, mineral grinding, and artificial sand production both domestically and internationally. This crusher is an ideal production equipment for construction sand, road-building sand, base course material, asphalt concrete, and cement concrete aggregate, hence its widespread application.

3. Impact Crusher

The impact crusher can process materials with a side length of 100-500 millimetres, with a maximum compressive strength of 350 megapascals. It features a high crushing ratio and produces cubic-shaped particles after crushing. It is widely used in the construction materials, mineral crushing, railway, highway, energy, transportation, cement, mining, and chemical industries for medium and fine crushing of materials. The discharge particle size can be adjusted, and the crushing specifications are diverse.

4. Cone Crusher

Cone crushers are widely used in the metallurgical industry, building materials industry, road construction industry, chemical industry, and silicate industry. They are suitable for crushing various types of minerals and rocks with medium to high hardness. This machine features high crushing force, high efficiency, high processing capacity, low operating costs, easy adjustment, and economical use.

5. Composite Crusher

This is a new type of high-efficiency fine crushing equipment that combines hammer crushing and impact crushing. The equipment has a large crushing ratio and can handle materials with high moisture content, making it ideal for processing materials with high moisture content. The output particle size can be freely adjusted, and there are no screen bars, so materials with high sand content will not cause blockages. Non-crushable objects entering the machine body can be automatically discharged, preventing damage to the equipment. This equipment has high production efficiency, a unique structure, smooth operation, low noise, and easy maintenance. The working chamber door can be opened to easily replace worn parts.

6. Hammer Crusher

The materials to be crushed include coal, salt, chalk, gypsum, bricks, limestone, etc. It is also used for crushing fibrous, elastic, and tough materials such as wood chips, paper, or asbestos cement waste to recover asbestos fibres. Additionally, the hammer crusher can be used not only in crushing production lines and sand-making production lines but also in mineral processing production lines to replace cone crushers.

7. Single-stage crusher

The single-stage crusher is suitable for crushing brittle minerals with a compressive strength <150 MPa, such as limestone, shale, gypsum, coal, muddy sandstone, and mixtures of limestone and clay. It can crush large mineral blocks to the required particle size for grinding in a single pass, thereby replacing traditional two-stage crushing, simplifying the process flow, and reducing production costs. This series of crushers is a specialised crusher for cement production, suitable for crushing limestone (mudstone) and clay-based mixtures, and can also be used for coal block crushing. It is primarily applied in cement production crushers, large-scale sand and gravel aggregate production projects, and other engineering projects.

8. Double-roll crusher

The double-roll crusher, also known as the double-roll type crusher, double-roll machine, or double-roll crusher (double-roll crusher), is suitable for fine crushing operations with feed particle size less than 80 mm and finished product particle size requirements of 50 mesh to 20 mm. It is used for artificial sand production from river pebbles and construction waste; fine crushing of iron ore and quartz stone in the mining industry; and crushing of raw materials in the ceramics industry. It is suitable for coarse and medium crushing of brittle block materials in industries such as cement, chemicals, power, mining, metallurgy, construction materials, refractory materials, and coal mining. It has a large feed size, adjustable output size, and can crush materials with a compressive strength of ≤160 MPa. Especially in the coal industry, using this machine to crush raw coal only requires iron removal and impurity removal, without the need for gangue removal, and can be directly crushed. The crushed material has uniform particle size and low over-crushing rate, thereby simplifying the coal preparation process and reducing investment and production costs.
