The Role of Vertical Impact Crushers in the Mining Industry
High-efficiency impact crushers are primarily used for medium and fine crushing and shaping of various ores. As highly efficient and energy-saving sand-making machines, they effectively process hard and brittle materials such as quartz sand, limestone, river pebbles, granite, and concrete aggregates into sand or gravel of different particle sizes.
Key components of the high-efficiency impact crusher include the feed hopper, rotor, frame, bearing assembly, and discharge chute. Featuring a simple overall structure, this high-energy, low-power consumption machine integrates multiple crushing modes. It is widely applicable in sand and gravel plants, coal mines, and mining operations for both medium and fine crushing tasks.
Depending on operating conditions or feed material, the vertical impact crusher employs either “stone-on-stone” or “stone-on-iron” crushing mechanisms by controlling feed methods. The “stone-on-stone” mechanism utilizes a cascade flow distribution system, splitting the feed into two controllable streams: one enters the high-speed rotating rotor cavity through the central feed pipe, while the other stream enters the equipment cavity through multiple overflow ports around the feed hopper's circumference. Material entering the rotor cavity is accelerated by the rotor's high-speed rotation and ejected through three or more discharge ports. This material collides violently with the material falling from the overflow ports in the rotor's peripheral zone, achieving stone-on-stone crushing. “Stone-on-Iron” refers to feeding all material through the central inlet pipe into the high-speed rotating impeller cavity. Accelerated by the impeller's rotation, the material is ejected through three or more discharge ports and violently impacts the metal impact plates mounted on the inner wall of the crushing chamber, achieving stone-on-iron crushing.
The vertical impact crusher offers the following performance advantages:
First, it employs oil lubrication for automation and intelligent maintenance, ensuring simple and convenient operation.
Second, it can switch between “stone-on-stone” and “stone-on-iron” modes, delivering strong crushing capacity and high sand yield. Finished material can reach 70%, effectively meeting refined sand production requirements.
Third, the deep-cavity rotor ensures minimal equipment wear during material passage while maintaining high output.
Fourth, hammerheads are made of hard alloy with precise structural installation and superior craftsmanship.
Fifth, optional imported bearings extend service life and enhance efficiency.
Sixth, the unique host structure accommodates high-power motors, offering ample space for increased installed capacity and greater output.
