With the rapid development of various industrial industries such as construction and metallurgy, various professional production equipment has been born and rapidly innovated, becoming essential and important equipment in various production lines. Among them, the crusher used in the initial stage of the production line is the most important, directly related to the subsequent processing of materials. The following is a brief discussion of two representative crushers - cone crushers and jaw crushers.

The cone crusher has excellent performance and is mainly used for medium and fine crushing operations, thus the product size is more uniform. The cone crusher has various cavity designs, and users can choose different cavity types according to their needs, including standard cavity for medium crushing, medium cavity for fine crushing, and short head type for ultra-fine crushing. The jaw crusher is designed for crushing rocks of various hardnesses and is mainly suitable for coarse and medium crushing. The crushing chamber of a jaw crusher consists of two jaw plates, the movable jaw and the static jaw, which crush the material by cranking and squeezing the two jaw plates. Because of its high crushing capacity and simple operation, the jaw crusher is now widely used in mineral processing, construction materials, silicate and ceramics industries.

In brief, the jaw crusher is mainly used for primary crushing and crushing relatively large stones; the cone crusher is used for crushing medium-sized stones and mostly for secondary crushing. The similarity lies in the fact that both apply squeezing pressure to the material. The degree of crushing is related to their structure and working principle. A cone crusher is a rotating crusher, in which the cone rotates while doing eccentric oscillation to drive the conical liner and fixed liner to crush the material; a jaw crusher is divided into simple and compound type, in which the moving jaw drives the flat jaw plate and fixed jaw plate to do reciprocal crushing movement to crush the material. In short, the former crushes by rotating and swinging, and the trajectory is circular, while the latter crushes by reciprocating and swinging, and the extrusion motion is linear. Compared with the jaw crusher, the working process of cone crusher is continuous, and the force on the material in its cavity is the combination of bending force, shear force and friction force, so it is easy to be crushed. Therefore, the capacity of cone crusher is large and the power consumption is low.
