Jaw crushers, typically employed as primary crushers, endure significant stress and suffer considerable wear. They are generally installed on concrete foundations. Given the crusher's substantial weight, harsh operating conditions, and the substantial inertial forces generated during operation, the foundation system experiences vibrations. These vibrations directly transmit to other machinery and structures. To ensure continuous, normal operation, efficient material crushing, prevent malfunctions, and maximize equipment capacity, pay attention to these details during jaw crusher use, and perform regular maintenance and periodic inspections.

1. Before starting the crusher, first activate the oil pump motor and cooling system. After 3-4 minutes, when oil pressure and flow indicators are normal, then start the jaw crusher motor.

2. After startup, if abnormal knocking sounds occur, immediately stop the machine. Investigate and eliminate the fault before restarting. The crusher must start under no-load conditions. Only after a period of normal operation should the feeding equipment be activated. Feed material into the crusher gradually, increasing until full-load operation is reached.

3. During operation, ensure uniform feeding. Do not overfill the crushing chamber. The maximum size of feed material should not exceed 0.85 times the width of the feed opening. Strictly prevent non-crushable objects like metal pieces from entering the crusher. If such objects are detected in the crushing chamber and pass through the discharge opening, immediately notify the next station to remove them promptly. This prevents them from entering the next stage crusher and causing severe equipment accidents.

4. During operation, be vigilant against large material pieces jamming the crusher feed opening. If jamming occurs, use an iron hook to dislodge the material. To remove large pieces from the crushing chamber, employ specialized tools. Never attempt to perform these tasks with bare hands to prevent accidents.

5. During operation, if excessive feeding occurs or the crushing chamber becomes blocked, feeding must be paused. Resume feeding only after the material in the crushing chamber has been fully crushed, but the crusher must remain running.

6. Conduct regular patrol inspections during operation. Observe the working condition of all crusher components and bearing temperatures through visual inspection, listening, and touch. Pay particular attention to bearing temperatures in large jaw crushers with sliding bearings. If abnormally high bearing temperatures are detected, do not immediately shut down the machine. Instead, promptly implement effective measures to reduce bearing temperatures, such as increasing oil supply, forced ventilation, or water cooling. Only after bearing temperatures have decreased should the machine be stopped for inspection and troubleshooting.

7. To ensure normal operation, personnel unfamiliar with operating procedures must not operate the crusher independently.

8. When shutting down the crusher, follow the sequence: first stop feeding. Only after all material in the crushing chamber has been discharged should the crusher be stopped. The oil pump motor may be stopped only after the crusher has come to a complete stop.

9. If the crusher stops unexpectedly, thoroughly clear any accumulated material from the crushing chamber before restarting after resolving the incident.
