Important Considerations for the Operation of Jaw Crushers

As a commonly used coarse crushing equipment for aggregates, jaw crushers have a wide range of applications in industrial production. Additionally, their high operational efficiency makes them highly favoured. To ensure continuous and normal operation of jaw crushers during production, reduce the incidence of equipment failures, and fully utilise their operational capabilities, the following points should be noted during use.

Operational Precautions for Jaw Crushers:

1. Before starting the jaw crusher, first activate the oil pump motor and cooling system. After 3–4 minutes, once the oil pressure and oil flow indicators are normal, then start the motor.

2. After startup, if the jaw crusher emits abnormal knocking sounds, immediately stop operation. Only restart the equipment after identifying and eliminating the issue. After starting, run the machine idle for a period of time. Only begin feeding material once normal operation is confirmed.  

3. During operation, monitor for large pieces of material blocking the feed opening. If this occurs, use an iron hook to dislodge the material. If large pieces must be removed from the crushing chamber, use specialised tools. Never attempt to remove them directly by hand to prevent accidents.

4. During operation, if there is excessive feeding or the crushing chamber becomes blocked, feeding must be paused immediately. Feeding may only resume after all material in the crushing chamber has been fully crushed.

5. When shutting down the jaw crusher, the shutdown must be performed in sequence. First, stop feeding, wait until all material in the crushing chamber has been discharged, then stop the crusher. Only after the crusher has come to a complete stop should the motor of the oil pump be turned off.

Additionally, if the jaw crusher suddenly stops during operation due to an issue, before restarting the machine after accident resolution, the accumulated material in the crushing chamber must first be cleared before restarting the machine.
