During operation, crushers process minerals and rocks, subjecting internal components to forces that cause wear. As wear worsens, the machine experiences various malfunctions. To prevent these failures, solutions must be identified to reduce wear on vulnerable parts. First, we must identify the factors causing wear on these components to implement appropriate countermeasures. When wear becomes severe, replacement is necessary to restore equipment performance. Here, we outline the causes of wear on wear-prone parts.

1. Related to Feed Material Hardness

Generally, the harder the stone fed into the crusher, the more difficult it is to crush. This increases wear on wear-prone components during the crushing process. Additionally, for the same fineness requirement, higher feed hardness results in slower crushing speeds. To address this, when crushing materials, select accessories made of corresponding materials based on the properties of different materials. This reduces wear and extends service life.

2. Related to Material Moisture Content

The moisture content of materials fed into the crusher affects the difficulty of crushing. Generally, high moisture content causes materials to adhere to the equipment interior and may lead to blockages during discharge and conveying. Additionally, high moisture accelerates rusting of internal components, making them prone to fractures when subjected to wear. Therefore, highly moist materials should be processed before crushing.

3. Related to finished particle size requirements

The finer the required particle size, the longer the crushing process takes and the more severe the equipment wear during production. Conversely, larger particle size requirements simplify the crushing process and result in relatively lighter wear during production.

4. Material Composition

A high proportion of fine powder in feed material reduces crushing efficiency by disrupting conveying processes. Similarly, impurities in feed material impair crushing performance. Both scenarios prolong the crushing process and accelerate wear on vulnerable components.
