Rock is a mineral material found everywhere in nature. How then do we distinguish hard rock? Generally, it can be determined by saturated uniaxial compressive strength: rocks exceeding 60 MPa are classified as hard rock, while those between 30-60 MPa are considered moderately hard rock. For example: granite, basalt, limestone, marble, sedimentary rock, quartzite, slate, dolomite, gneiss, and others are all classified as hard rock. After undergoing crushing and sand-making processes, they can be effectively utilized in numerous fields such as highways, bridges, municipal construction, airport runways, and railways. However, to process and utilize them, crushing equipment is essential. Only materials processed by crushers can be utilized in the construction industry. Generally, rock processing involves three main steps: primary crushing, secondary crushing, and tertiary crushing. The following introduces hard rock crushers, aiming to provide reference for users' future investment and selection.

A. Jaw Crusher

Features a wide discharge opening adjustment range with a wedge-type discharge adjustment mechanism, enabling stepless adjustment that is simple, quick, and adaptable to diverse user requirements.

For large rock blocks, primary crushing is essential. This stage typically employs the jaw crusher within the crushing equipment lineup. The jaw crusher is the preferred equipment for primary rock crushing. OCP Heavy Industry's P-series jaw crusher achieves a maximum production capacity of 1500 t/h, with adjustable maximum feed sizes ranging from 430 to 1360 mm.

B. Impact Crusher

If the rock processed by the jaw crusher still fails to meet user requirements, secondary crushing equipment is needed. Options include impact crushers and cone crushers. Many users opt for impact crushers. OCP Heavy Industry's hard rock fine crushing impact crusher achieves a unit production capacity of 230 t/h, suitable for crushing various coarse, medium, and fine materials with feed sizes not exceeding 400 mm and compressive strengths up to 250 MPa.

C. Sand Making Machines

If the finished material particle size fails to meet customer requirements, sand making machines—specifically vertical impact crushers—can be employed for further fine crushing and shaping. OCP Heavy Industry's vertical impact crushers operate at high rotational speeds exceeding 80 m/s. They are used in the sand and gravel aggregate processing industry for re-crushing and shaping coarse sand particles, thereby optimizing the particle size distribution of finished sand and reducing its fineness modulus.

Vertical impact crushers are widely applied in fine crushing and shaping operations for minerals and rocks across various industries, including metal and non-metal mining, refractory materials, abrasive ceramic raw materials, building materials, high-speed rail construction, hydropower projects, and private sand and gravel aggregate production. They demonstrate particular advantages over other equipment when processing medium-hard, ultra-hard, or abrasive materials such as sandstone, granite, basalt, silicon carbide, emerald, bauxite, magnesia, and similar materials.
