Aggregates are a general term for materials such as sand, crushed stone, boulders, and dressed stone. They are produced by crushing various types of ore and serve as the primary construction materials for concrete and masonry structures in infrastructure projects such as roads, water conservancy projects, and bridges. But what types of aggregate crushing equipment are available?

Currently, there is a wide variety of aggregate crushing equipment on the market. Based on output capacity, they are categorized into large, medium, and small-scale models. By function, they are classified into primary crushing, secondary crushing, and fine crushing/sand making, meeting the needs of production operations of varying scales. Common types include jaw crushers, impact crushers, cone crushers, and impact crushers. When selecting equipment, one should fully consider factors such as raw material characteristics, production scale, finished product requirements, and budget. Combining on-site inspections with professional consultation will help ensure the selection of equipment best suited for your specific project.

1. Jaw Crusher

As primary crushing equipment, jaw crushers are commonly used for coarse crushing of large rock blocks. Their core components consist of a pair of movable jaw plates (moving jaw) and fixed jaw plates (fixed jaw). An electric motor drives an eccentric shaft, causing the moving jaw to perform periodic reciprocating motion, which exerts squeezing and splitting forces on the material to complete the crushing process. The deep V-shaped crushing chamber eliminates dead zones, thereby improving efficiency. resulting in uniform final particle size. Additionally, the use of wedge-type adjustment for the discharge opening facilitates easy adjustment and maintenance.

2. Cone Crusher

This machine is particularly effective for the fine crushing of high-hardness rock. Its operating principle relies on the mutual compression between the internal moving cone and the fixed cone. Different chamber types can be selected to better meet user requirements. Product particle size is controlled by adjusting the discharge opening. It features high crushing force, high efficiency, strong wear resistance, comprehensive overload protection, and is easy to automate, effectively reducing damage to the equipment caused by non-crushable objects.

3 Impact Crusher

Suitable for crushing medium-hardness and softer rock materials, this machine utilizes a high-speed rotating rotor to drive impact plates, which strike the rock entering the crushing chamber. The rock is then subjected to further impact, friction, and fracturing against the impact plates. Wedge-type fasteners secure the impact plates, ensuring stability during high-speed rotor rotation and reliable operation. Equipped with an adjustment mechanism, it produces excellent particle shape while significantly increasing output.

4 Impact Crusher

Specifically designed for the fine crushing and sand making of sand and gravel aggregates, this machine operates on the “stone-on-stone” or “stone-on-iron” principle. A high-speed rotating impeller propels material into the crushing chamber, where it undergoes mutual collision, friction, and grinding. Improvements in the four-port impeller design and the impact angle within the crushing chamber the final product is relatively fine, predominantly polyhedral in shape with excellent particle quality. It balances the wear-resistant peripheral liners with the rock’s natural fracture points, and the developed low-wear structure reduces maintenance costs.
