It forms through the metamorphism of quartz sandstone and siliceous rocks. Typically, it results from regional metamorphism and recrystallisation of quartz sandstone or other siliceous rocks.


As a natural stone material, quartzite is widely prevalent in nature due to its high hardness (exceeding 7 on the Mohs scale) and excellent corrosion resistance. It is not only frequently utilised in interior decoration but also serves as the primary raw material for manufactured sand.
