Principle and Structure of Limestone Impact Crusher
Introduction to Limestone
Limestone is a carbonate mineral with significant industrial applications. It typically appears in shades of gray, grayish-white, yellow, or light red. Due to its excellent polishing properties, cohesiveness, and workability, limestone serves as a vital industrial raw material in construction materials, metallurgy, chemical industries, light industries, and architecture.
Before use in industrial applications, limestone must first be crushed to a specific particle size using specialized equipment. Impact crushers are commonly employed for this crushing process. Numerous types of impact crushers are available on the market, with OCP Heavy Industry Technology Co., Ltd.'s limestone impact crusher delivering superior crushing performance. Below is a brief overview of the equipment's working principle, structure, and performance characteristics.
Working Principle of Limestone Impact Crusher
During operation, limestone is fed into the center of the rotor through the top central feed hopper. It is then distributed into each discharge chamber by the material distribution cone. Under the centrifugal force generated by the high-speed rotation of the rotor, the limestone is ejected at high linear velocity from the discharge port. Colliding with the annular impact surface formed by the material cushion, the limestone particles break down into small cubic particles moving along their original natural fractures at high impact velocity.
As the impact process continues, limestone is continuously flushed from the annular impact pad layer and discharged through the lower outlet. Simultaneously, new material continuously accumulates on the impact pad. Significant grinding occurs during this material renewal process, resulting in most limestone particles being ground into fine powder. The fine powder, being lighter in mass, discharges earlier than larger particles. The material pad falls into the hopper for discharge.
Structure of the Limestone Impact Crusher
The overall structural design of the limestone impact crusher is exceptionally simple and advanced. It primarily consists of a frame, main shaft, crushing chamber, inlet, outlet, rotor, overflow port, and motor.
