Kleemann MR 100 NEOe Electric Impact Crusher Wins IFAT Safety Award
Industry Recognition: ISSA Honours Lock & Turn Quick Access System
Kleemann, the German mobile crushing and screening specialist and part of the Wirtgen Group, has received a prestigious Safety Award from the International Social Security Association (ISSA) for its innovative “Lock & Turn Quick Access” system. The award, presented by the ISSA Section on Machine and System Safety, recognises developments that make a demonstrable contribution to improving occupational safety. The Lock & Turn Quick Access system is installed as standard on the MOBIREX MR 100 NEO and MR 100 NEOe impact crushers and fundamentally redefines how operators access the crushing chamber. Previously, opening the crusher housing required manually loosening multiple bolted connections in hard-to-reach areas, creating a higher workload and significant risks for operators. With Lock & Turn Quick Access, these steps are eliminated. The system allows the crusher unit housing to be opened and closed at the push of a button – but only after the rotor has come to a complete standstill. This defuses a central hazard point in impact crusher operation: access to the crushing chamber during or immediately after machine operation. The entire process takes approximately 30 seconds, giving the operator a full view of the crushing chamber without any manual intervention. Laurin Winter, Product Management for mobile impact crushers at Kleemann, explained: “Our Lock & Turn Quick Access allows our customers to open the crusher very quickly at the push of a button. A blow bar replacement, for example, is extremely convenient”. The ISSA jury emphasised that the solution not only increases safety but also simplifies workflows, enabling faster visual inspections and early detection of wear.
MR 100 NEOe: All-Electric Operation for Sustainable Crushing
The MOBIREX MR 100 NEOe is the first family member of Kleemann‘s new NEO line, offering a compact, efficient and extremely flexible mobile impact crusher solution. Thanks to its compact dimensions and low transport weight, the MR 100 NEOe can be used quickly and flexibly across a very wide variety of applications – from recycling concrete, mixed rubble and asphalt to processing soft to medium-hard natural stone. The machine is available with two drive versions: the D-DRIVE diesel-direct drive for maximum efficiency and low fuel consumption, and the E-DRIVE diesel-electric drive concept exclusively for the NEOe variant. The E-DRIVE enables all-electric operation, allowing the MR 100 NEOe to run locally free of CO₂ emissions. This dual-drive flexibility gives operators the choice between conventional diesel operation and sustainable electric operation depending on site conditions and environmental requirements. The powerful crusher unit features a 4-ledged rotor with a large impact range, fully hydraulic gap adjustment and overload system, and an optional 4 m² single-deck secondary screening unit that enables classified final product sizing. With a feed capacity of up to 250 tonnes per hour and a maximum feed size of 500 mm x 800 mm x 300 mm, the MR 100 NEOe delivers reliable, high-performance crushing across diverse applications.
IFAT Munich 2026: Kleemann’s Debut at the World‘s Leading Environmental Technology Fair
Kleemann made its first-ever appearance at IFAT Munich 2026, the world’s leading trade fair for environmental technologies, held from 4 to 7 May 2026. The company showcased a complete plant train consisting of the scalping screen MOBISCREEN MSS 502 EVO, the impact crusher MOBIREX MR 100 NEO and the stockpile conveyor MOBIBELT MBT 20. The live demonstration in the Crushing Zone clearly showed the seamless interaction of the Kleemann plants in real-world operating conditions. IFAT Munich brought together approximately 3,400 exhibitors from over 60 countries and around 142,000 visitors, providing an ideal platform for Kleemann to demonstrate its expertise in mobile crushing and screening to the global environmental technology community. The event highlighted the growing importance of sustainable material processing solutions, particularly in the recycling and circular economy sectors. Kleemann‘s participation at IFAT underscored the company’s commitment to delivering practical, sustainable solutions for asphalt recycling, concrete processing and construction waste management.
Market Context: The Accelerating Shift to Electric Drive in Mobile Crushing
Kleemann‘s launch of the MR 100 NEOe reflects a broader industry trend toward electrification and sustainability in mobile crushing equipment. Major OEMs are accelerating their transition from diesel-hydraulic to diesel-electric and fully electric drive systems, driven by regulatory pressures, rising fuel costs, and growing demand from quarry operators for lower-emission, more cost-effective solutions. Running electric mobile crushers via an external grid connection or onboard genset offers compelling advantages: significantly lower running costs, extended drivetrain service intervals, reduced refuelling time, minimal onsite emissions, and lower noise levels – benefits that are particularly valuable in urban or environmentally sensitive locations. The MR 100 NEOe‘s ability to operate on E-DRIVE further enhances its sustainability credentials, allowing operators to reduce their carbon footprint without compromising performance. As environmental regulations tighten and sustainability targets become more ambitious, the demand for electric drive mobile crushers is expected to accelerate across Europe, North America, and other major markets.
