Kaolin Grinding Machinery and Process Flow
Kaolin is a well-known material with a wide range of applications. It is primarily used in the paper, ceramics, and refractory industries, and is also utilized in industrial sectors such as coatings, rubber fillers, petroleum, chemicals, and building materials. Before use, it must be processed to a fineness of approximately 80–1,000 mesh. However, what types of machinery are available for grinding kaolin, and how should the specific process flow be designed?
Kaolin is a non-metallic mineral consisting primarily of kaolinite-group clay minerals and claystones. It possesses excellent physical and chemical properties, such as good plasticity and refractoriness, with a hardness of 2.0–3.5 on the Mohs scale and a density of 2.54–2.60 g/cm³. Given these material characteristics, equipment such as jaw crushers and Raymond mills is more suitable for processing.
01 Jaw Crusher
This machine crushes material through the squeezing and bending action of two jaw plates. Its deep crushing chamber eliminates dead zones, so even large chunks won’t cause blockages. It also features a wedge-type adjustment mechanism for the discharge opening, allowing for adjustable and uniform final particle size. Optimized motion parameters enable crushing to begin in the upper part of the crushing chamber, with a large lower stroke for a higher crushing ratio. The integrated structure of the motor base and main unit simplifies installation and saves space.
02 Raymond Mill
Designed through updates and improvements, this mill features a compact, three-dimensional structure that minimizes floor space. It forms a self-contained production system from raw material to finished powder, offering high system integration and cost savings. Through the combined action of the classifier and blower, it meets the diverse requirements of different users. The finished fine powder is of high quality, uniform, and highly precise in grading, with fineness adjustable to meet specific needs. The main unit’s drive system employs a sealed gearbox and pulleys, ensuring smooth operation. The electrical system employs centralized control, enabling essentially unmanned operation and improving operational efficiency.
Kaolin Grinding Process Flow
In addition to the main jaw crusher and Raymond mill, kaolin grinding machinery requires other auxiliary equipment to form a complete production line. The kaolin grinding process flow is designed based on on-site surveys or specific client requirements, fully reflecting the rationality, effectiveness, and applicability of the design.
Process Flow:
Raw Material → Jaw Crusher → Bucket Elevator → Electromagnetic Vibrating Feeder → Raymond Mill → Classifier → Dust Collector → Finished Product;
Large chunks of material are processed by the jaw crusher to the required particle size, then transported by the elevator to the hopper. From there, the vibrating feeder feeds the material uniformly, in measured quantities, and continuously into the Raymond mill for grinding. The ground powder is carried away by the airflow from the blower and classified by the classifier. Powder meeting the required fineness enters the large cyclone collector with the airflow for separation and collection, and is then discharged through the outlet pipe as the finished powder.
What is the price of kaolin grinding machinery and equipment?
The price of kaolin grinding machinery and equipment varies, as there are numerous processing solutions available. Different production requirements call for different process flows, and a production line that better aligns with the user’s actual situation can help save costs. Additionally, the choice of manufacturer plays a key role.
